    I have big advise for you. Can you please delete air strikes....mostly the heli???

    Its not normal that people camp at begin for heli just to make 20-30 kills.. Who realy need heli in FFA mod who should be most skilled mod for aim and shooting.

    LETS PEOPLE MADE KILLS BY HES OWN SKILL..


    TURN OFF HELI....MAKE THIS FFA SERVER GREATEST IN THE WORLD... TY
  • Although you have good points, personally, when I look at complications within game mechanics, I ask myself if it's counter-able; meaning can I fight against it.

    To the heli, I say you can, even if you get 10 shots on it and do no more, other players could be shooting it too which could bring it down. It's counter-able. Heli's typically aim for players higher on the scoreboard.

    Airstrikes cause little harm unless you can't get to cover within 5 seconds of hearing it getting called in. Again easily counter-able. If i was to get mad at anything, it'd be the strafing runs haha, they ruin everything they see :rofl:

    I'm not saying they're perfect but at most they're an annoyance that can be overcome sometimes with little effort whatsoever :D
    • You seem to be wrong :) , Pit... because the FFA mod depends on these characteristics .... The players can not achieve large points without the use of aircraft and helicopters ... Suppose, for example, that we wiped airstrike and helicopters or other .... During the play you will see some idle And the complète silence and this is what makes the game not good .. These characteristics can not be removed from the FFA mod because it is essential :)

    I understand you want a purely skillbased game, but I think many ppl would not want to give up the normal one for that.
    If enough people want it the management may consider it, and they may be able to set up a second. (I think PAM supports disabling killstreaks)

    ... don't think many ppl see the need though and would not change to the server without killstreaks.

    Everyone who likes fully skillbased gaming is playing Gungame. :)

    Just a sidenote: Battalion 1944 aims out to be purely skillbased, if you did not know that already. You may want to check it out.

  • I dont care about airstrikes realy..they cant or hard make huge kills and mostly they are losing time... keep them in

    HELI is a problem in FFA HC..

    Server is HC and heli kills instantly 4-5 people...in open maps 2 helis make more than half kills of some player. Is that skill?

    What is point if u camp for heli and then from 80 kills helis got 50? I saw much people like thise..

    I m always at heli target because i m always on the top of list. I always rushing and die more than mostly people kill.
    Thise is the way in ffa... And then when u contest with heli..with back spawns,campers behind any corner,killing a will for game.

    I want relax and play normal..dont wanna contest with heli,and count to not die after i kill 6 people,because i mostly do :D

    !!! Without heli more people have chance to contest during maps,because they will be longer,and more space for all. !!! think about that

    I found 1 perfect servers without any airs... but they banned me because i use JUMP (space) and they have rulle to not jump at all...can u imagine that rulle.
    People just cant change some reflexes in 10 years long play cod4..

    Can you tell us the IP so people here can have a go and see whether they like it without the heli?
    If more people like your suggestion to remove it, chance it actually may happen increases.
  • Well, choppers may cause some discomfort for some players, by ruining some killstreaks for free, but really man, you said you have played this game since it's existence, and for 13 years most of the FFA servers allow it and chopper kills contribute in the killstreak ! Which our servers had it disabled.
    Choppers can be countered easely by a good headset; focusing on it's sound will determine which position to seek, and they and the other killstreak abilities test your ability to deal with various variables which have made the game's "taste", removing them especially the chopper would have a much bigger impact on the gameplay and on our regulars also, i might have not convinced you but, for real, isn't the goal of the game, detroying others' killstreaks ?
    I might not suggest removing the chopper completely but instead making it harder to reach like for exemple at 10 kills, making the predator missile at 7 kills.

    I'm glad you took up my suggestion and brought this up on the forums because I'd like it throughly argued.

    Well, I'm both for and against the removal of Heli's. I'm against it because I believe it amplifies the skill of the skillful and downscales that of the less skilled. Also, the kill streak thing also encourages camping IMHO. For people like me with pings never below 160, maintaining a kill streak without camping is a herculean task and Contrary To F's view, I've often found getting more kills a more efficient use of my time as opposed to fighting the Heli's when they come around.
    While I'd love the rules to be amended in this regard to promote overall fairness and equality while having the potential to reduce camping, I believe it's a little too late because the regulars have become used to this style of play. It's anyone's guess really what effect this will have on the overall dynamics of the game and the server in general if the Heli's leave.
  • Predator...who even use it?Its only losing precious time.. I used before 2 days and game was bugged me. predator aim was stuck in zoom to mu gun and i cant play 10 second...

    Kill streak means nothing... who care about 10-15-20 kill streak.in FFA nobody have time to think about killingstreak.

    Point od FFA it's the competition to win the game with the fussy and precision,not camp heling...

    Dude.. before this game died together with xfire... had 10 times more players,with contest SD and team wars,tournaments and all..
    Legitimate maps which are used was only strike,vacant,crash,backlot,citystreets and crossfire.

    There orginal keys was in use and 80% servers was PROMOD! Nobody serious played with perks and airs.. All serious servers had pro mod. Same like that there was a server of pro team "Esuba" who had FFA PRO MOD without any perks airs and shits... Settings was 10 minutes play,and who made most kill wining.

    Today is hard to find any server with pro mod with people in it,and all are SD. Because cod4 for multiplayer teams died and 90% players stop playing it..

    Server name is OLD GITS HAVING FUN DM HC. thing i dont like there because half maps are new....good,best i see so far but camping. And all people who use jump they instantly whine flame and call him bunny.

    I'd never really took connection latency in to account when thinking about the killstreaks etc, that's a very valid point.
    For FFA, I'd be more than happy keeping the killstreaks as non-aggressive so only leaving in UAV at 3 kills and VSAT at 11 or something along those lines and only having those 2 which can get more than once each in 1 life.
    For example, say I get a 22 killstreak in a FFA match, I'd acquire 2 UAVs and 2 VSATS over the course of my life.

    I am easy either way, whatever the community feel is best for the growth of the server. Maybe if a poll could be added on the homepage and a notification in game that tells people they can have their say on the servers killstreaks.
  • Hi Pit, this seems to trouble you quite much. (according to the chat logs)

    No spellcheck or coherence, as it is Sunday and I have the slowest brain activity any human (or robot) can have.

    I played 1 full map against you yesterday. I decided to start out without any helicopter to see if it would make a difference for you, but this was not the case. Ramm4 and I started moving away from the mid range around 25% of total score.

    I use the helicopter for 3 things:
    Extra kills; (but I try to avoid to rely on it, as it can be quite random.) (Also I had people come out of spectator mode to destroy my helicopter, to return to spectator mode after that, Roccat did this a few times, questionable disruption, but whatever floats his goat, I mean boat..)
    Physiological effect of calling it in. (In all honesty, it seems that you are prone to this.)
    Noise generator, it masks a lot of other noises.

    I always try to create a margin, the helicopter improves that margin. I could do without all the stuff that comes after the helicopter. I sometimes have to put a grenade on myself to avoid going from 7 to 10 and get that predator thing, I most of the time just keep killing until I'm at 12 so I can call that improved UAV in. (Also useless for me, as I can't keep my eyes of the action.) Going from there it is the care package, that I also use a lot, just as a feeding ground, seems there are always some greedy guys that want to get it. I leave it, and kill off people trying to get to it. (this is some hot info you are getting here!) Moving up to 16, the artillery, and this is my lamest trick of all: I place it directly over spawn points, this is quite sad. (but not very common as it requires 16 kills in a row.) From 16 to 18 is a small step, and it gives this strafe run, seeing this for the first time, you might think guys are cheating, that was what I thought. (Until I got it myself.) From 18 to 20 you get a view from inside the helicopter and you can fire guided missiles (predators) to the ground. I only use this at the end of a map as it takes 1 minute of ground time away, and ground time is always more effective than air time. This entire paragraph had nothing to do with your original question. But here it is.

    U think i care do i have 2 streak or 22 ???? Making streak (mostly need luck) only given u time for more kills,nothing else. When u play FFa u don't have time to think and calculate except from where opponent will jump out.. just rush rush rush and kills around that is all point there.

    For killing streak people all that u need its a weapon..

    A lot of people care about their killstreaks, maybe not for the utility it gives you, but more for the KD ratio. it also gives a huge sense of accomplishment when its 1vs20 and you've managed to get a 15-20k+ killstreak. Being able to call that strafing run in on FFA is so satisfying.

    So on and so forth until you hit Killstreak 15 (for example) and you gain all perks that are allowed in the game that aren't restricted.
    I feel this could bring it more to a skillbased game as you're not relying on killstreaks to gain you kills, more that you're utilising the perks given and possibly changing your play-style to suit it.
